Dr. Lisa Campbell

Co-director Dr. Lisa Campbell is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a particular interest in aging, especially concerning women, families, and lesbian, gay, and bisexual persons. Her work focuses primarily on depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, dementia, relationship difficulties--and blends therapeutic approaches including existential and spiritually-sensitive psychotherapies, self-healing practices, and life narratives.

Dr. Campbell has pursued a course of learning about psychology and aging ever since she began writing a personal history of her Irish grandmother, and developed a business doing the same for other families (The Story of a Lifetime). She feels drawn to helping older adults and their families tell and sort through their life stories--exploring questions about what your life means, what matters most, and what might be getting in the way of authentic living; and listening deeply to your experiences.

She earned her doctorate at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and has worked with adults in such settings as the Claret Center (Chicago), MacNeal Hospital (Berwyn), and Jane Addams Community Mental Health Center (Freeport, IL). She currently serves on the Medical Staff at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Dr. Campbell provides psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and professional consultation--in our offices, as well as in hospitals, assisted living and nursing facilities, and other community venues.
